Once upon a time, there lived a man who had dedicated his entire life to work and had meticulously saved every single penny he earned.

Money was his true love, and he cherished it more than anything else in the world.

His final days drew near, and he called his wife to his side with a serious request.

"Listen carefully, my dear. When I pass away, I want you to promise me one thing. I want you to take all of my hard-earned money and place it in the casket with me. I want to carry my wealth into the afterlife.",he told his beloved wife.

Touched by his heartfelt wish, his wife solemnly pledged to honor his request.

And so, the day arrived when the man breathed his last breath. As he lay peacefully in his casket, surrounded by mourners paying their respects.

His wife, dressed in black, sat by his side, her eyes filled with grief.

Just as the undertakers prepared to seal the casket and bring closure to the solemn affair, the wife's eyes widened, and she shouted, "Wait! Stop, please!"

She stepped forward, clutching a small shoebox tightly in her hands. With a determined expression, she gently placed the shoebox inside the casket.

The undertakers, puzzled by this unusual request, closed the casket and rolled it away to its final resting place.

As the wife's closest friend approached her, a hint of curiosity sparkled in her eyes.

"Dear friend," she inquired, "I hope you didn't actually put all of that money in the casket with that stingy old man."

A mischievous smile spread across the wife's face as she replied, "Oh, but I did promise him, you see. I am a devout Christian, and I cannot bear to break my word. I assured him that I would place every last cent of his money in that casket."

Her friend's eyebrows shot up in disbelief. "Surely you're not saying that you put every single penny inside the casket?"

"Indeed, I did exactly that. I gathered all the money, deposited it into my own account, and then, my dear, I wrote him a check!"the wife retorted.

As the realization sank in, a wave of laughter swept through the crowd. They couldn't help but marvel at the wife's wit and resourcefulness. Even in death, the greedy husband's desires were cleverly outsmarted by his quick-thinking wife.

And so, this tale of the greedy husband and the wife who survived him serves as a reminder that sometimes, the greatest lessons are learned through a hearty laugh. Money may hold power, but it cannot escape the cunning spirit of those who dare to outwit it.
