Derek who becomes concerned when his stepdaughter, Candace, cries every day before getting on the school bus.

One day, he decides to investigate the reason for her distress and gets on the bus himself.

Derek fell in love with Lily, Candace's mother, and embraced them both as his own family.

Both Lily and Derek were working parents, so they sent Candace to school by bus every day. However, Derek noticed that Candace would cry every day before getting on the bus.

He tried to talk to her about it, but she wouldn't say anything.

One morning, he saw the bus driver, Justin, force Candace to sit at the back of the bus, he knew something was wrong.

Derek had known Justin for years, and he had never seen him behave like this before.

Derek followed the bus onto the school campus and confronted Justin, demanding to know why he was treating Candace so badly.

Justin replied that Candace was a nasty child who he wished had never been born. He blamed Lily and Candace for his business losses, which he claimed had started after he dated Lily.

Derek was furious and went straight to the school principal to report Justin's behavior.

The principal was shocked and promised to investigate.

In the meantime, Derek decided to take Candace to school himself.

Lily was horrified. She had no idea that Justin was capable of such cruelty.

She and Derek decided to press charges against Justin, and he was eventually fired from his job.
