In 2017,
It was an unexpected encounter when a 9-year-old girl named Brooke found herself short of money to pay for her donuts at a store named Sheetz.
A kind state trooper named Chad Savannah volunteered to pay for her purchase and put it on his bill.
Brooke thanked the officer and quickly left the store.
However, when she got home, she realized that she hadn't truly repaid the cop for his generosity.
So, she decided to take action. She wrote an adorable thank you note, put a $10 bill inside the envelope, and included her name and age in the letter.
She recalled the incident at Sheetz and expressed her gratitude to the officer, ending the note with "Stay safe, Brooke."
Officer Savannah received the sweet note and shared it with his fellow officers at the station.
They decided to meet her in person to thank her for her thoughtfulness.
They surprised her with a $50 gift card to a toy store as a token of their appreciation.
But Brooke surprised them once again.
She decided to donate the toys to a charity.
Her selflessness inspired the officers, and they invited her to the police station.
They showed her around, showered her with gifts and donuts, and expressed their gratitude for her kind heart and actions.
The officers recognized that Brooke's behavior was a reflection of her upbringing and praised her parents for instilling such kindness in her.
Brooke Yost's heartwarming story was not the only one making headlines.
In New Zealand, a 4-year-old boy called emergency services (dialing 111) just to invite the officers to see his new toys.
Although it was not an emergency, Constable Kurt responded to the call and visited the boy's home in the city of Invercargill.
He admired the boy's toys, showed him the police car, and even taught him about the proper use of the emergency number before leaving. It was a heartwarming exchange that brought smiles to everyone involved.
