A pregnant woman who had been reported missing was tragically found deceased along with her unborn baby in separate locations in Missouri earlier this week.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Ashley Bush, who was 31 weeks pregnant, was discovered deceased on Thursday. Additionally, the body of her fetus, whom she had named Valkyrie Grace Willis, was found deceased the day before, as stated by law enforcement officials.

"We have found Ashley Bush, who was murdered in our opinion," Sheriff Shane Holloway told reporters. "We also found her baby, Valkyrie Grace Willis, who is deceased as well, [and] who was found at a separate location.

Ashley Bush, aged 33, was initially reported missing on Monday after she had arranged to meet someone who used the name "Lucy" in search of a job, as stated in a previous social media post.

Bush and "Lucy" had met at a convenience store in Maysville, Arkansas, before Bush planned to travel about 30 miles to Bentonville for a job interview with the woman.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office disclosed that a married couple, identified as Amber and Jamie Waterman, had been arrested and were currently in jail on first-degree kidnapping charges related to the case. The department also stated that additional charges were expected to be filed against them.


"This is just a reminder that there is evil in the world," Prosecuting Attorney Nathan Smith said.

"People do evil things. That someone would prey upon a pregnant woman at her most vulnerable state is unimaginable.

That's the world we live in." "Obviously, our hearts and prayers go out to Ashley's family," he added. "It is a terrible thing."


Smith confirmed that the motive behind the murders of Ashley Bush and her unborn baby Valkyrie Grace Willis remained unclear, and the investigation was still ongoing.

As for the Watermans, who were arrested and booked into the McDonald County Detention Center, it was not immediately known if they had legal representation to speak on their behalf.
