5-year-old comes home from school with SHOCKING confession, they are forced to act
Sunshine Alpha, a five-year-old girl from Ishpeming, Michigan, was saving up for a snowmobile when she surprised her grandmother Jackie Alka by emptying her piggy bank on the living room floor. Jackie thought the money was being saved for the snowmobile, but it turned out to be too little for such a big purchase. Jackie was curious to know what had caused Sunshine to dip into her savings so soon, and she discovered that Sunshine wanted to take the money to school to buy milk for her friend's mom who didn't have the funds to pay for it.

Jackie was completely stunned by her granddaughter's kindness and generosity. She decided to accompany Sunshine to school to help her explain to the teacher what the cash was for. Rita Hauscher, the kindergarten teacher, was very moved by Sunshine's gesture, and Jackie was inspired to post a video on Facebook to tell the world about her granddaughter's action. The video went viral, and people started offering unsolicited donations to pay for pupils to have milk.
Recognizing that these strangers wanted to do a good deed, Jackie set up a donation page on a crowdfunding site. She thought that if she could raise $700, she'd be able to pay for all the children in Sunshine's class to have milk. Instead, something quite remarkable took place. Donations hit the $700 mark and then massively exceeded that amount in the span of only two weeks. An incredible $6,000 was handed over, meaning that all 20 children would be able to have free milk all the way to the end of the year.
Sunshine came home from school one day with great news. She delightedly informed her grandmother that not only did her friend have milk money now, but the rest of the class also had milk too, and it had all started with Sunshine's own small gesture of kindness. Jackie said that Sunshine doesn't understand the impact she's made, but now she knows she can do whatever she puts her mind to. Milk is important in their family, so it's very important for Sunshine's friends to have milk with her.
It's a testament to her grandmother's parenting skills that Sunshine has turned out so well in light of the youngster's somewhat problematic family life. Sunshine's mom is a drug addict and has been to prison several times, meaning she hasn't always been there for her daughter. Jackie acknowledged that while the situation might not be affecting Sunshine directly right now, it could potentially cause problems later on in life. "She's going to have enough issues growing up with this," Jackie said. "I've never told her she can't do something, and I didn't want to start now."
This heartwarming story shows that sometimes a small gesture can become a big event, and all it takes is one person to get it started. The kindness and generosity displayed by Sunshine and her grandmother have had a significant impact on the children in Sunshine's class, and it shows how one small act of kindness can lead to a domino effect of good deeds.
